Synopsis

The Woman in the Fifth follows Tom Ricks, an American literature professor who arrives in Paris to reconnect with his estranged daughter and finds himself stranded — broke, locked out, and without recourse. He drifts into a grimy room in a working-class neighbourhood and begins a clandestine affair with a mysterious, elusive woman he meets at a literary salon. As the line between reality and delusion blurs, Tom becomes entangled in events he cannot explain and a city that seems to be slowly consuming him. Based on the novel by Douglas Kennedy.
