Synopsis

Amandla! chronicles the role that music and song played in South Africa’s anti-apartheid movement across nearly half a century. Through interviews, rare archival footage, and live performances, the documentary celebrates the musicians who helped sustain the spirit of resistance. The film takes its title from the Zulu and Xhosa word for “power.”
